How this Started

This history of this orphan house dates back to the beginning of 20th century. About 11 decade ago, a few God-fearing persons belonging to different religious schools of thought realized the need of a place which would serve as an asylum for the orphans in the city. They united their three societies into one, called Anjuman-I-Islamia and resolved to embark upon a noble mission of humanitarianism. Thus an orphan house was started under the supervision of Anjuman in 1906. The idea was to remove the sense of deprivation from the minds of fatherless children who felt themselves isolated and inferior in society. They were to be brought up with care and a feeling of reassurance that they were equal and respectable members of society.

Nothing could hamper the achievement of their Nobel ideals. The philanthropists came ahead to prove every facility to these orphans. Ever since Anjuman-I-Islamia has been running an orphan house. It is responsible for the education, health and nourishment. The children are properly enrolled, listed and looked after. They are boarded in a spacious building with all the hygienic and healthful requirements. A neat and clean kitchen, a good living and recreation hall and temperature controlled bed rooms and furnished to them. A proper staff comprising a butler, a cook, a washer man, a sweeper and a gate-warden has been employed for the children. A warden/manager of the orphan house is present at the premises round the clock
